Aug 2013 - Aug 2013
Aided mathematics professor as a supplemental instruction leader running a 2 week summer bridge program focusing on preparing students to retake the math placement exam at College of the Desert. Worked with approximately 80 students focusing on basic arithmetic skills, gave a portion of the lectures, assisted students one-on-one to understand the material, assisted in designing the course. The bridge program resulted in over 95% of the students showing improved math scores, with over half of the students placing at least one course ahead in the math track, and several students being placed into even more advanced courses. Effectively lowering the number of basic arithmetic classes necessary for the math department to offer. Show less
