Developing Point Inside's Data Platform with Java, Pig and AWS. * Reimplemented code to generate SOLR indexes from partner data as a set of Pig scripts, decreasing processing time from 12 hours to under 2 hours. This enabled 24 hour turnaround of partner data. * Designed and implemented a partner data ingestion framework in Java. This framework as been malleable enough to onboard additional data types with minimal rework. * Designed and implemented a system for providing daily views of partner data in S3 while processing incremental data feeds, without the use of a standing database. * Implemented a system for enabling versioned deployments of programs run under AWS Data Pipelines. * Currently investigating Apache Spark (and Scala) as a replacement for certain kinds of workloads.
