The perfect combination of technical skills and artistic talent. I had the opportunity of working with Adam on the final project of VFS’s Game Design course. During the development of the project, he showed how efficient, organized, reliable and supportive he is. Throughout the whole process, Adam came up with logical and creative solutions for all the VFX challenges. He also showed remarkable dedication, always willing to learn and improve his skills. In addition to his excellent work as a Tech Artist, Adam also eagerly contributed to all the design aspects of the game, offering new exciting and fresh ideas for the mechanics. Adam is not only a passionate artist, but he is also a wonderful person; at stressful times he was always a positive influence for all the team. I admire his passion a lot and, honestly, he motivated me to do my best. I know that Adam will put his heart and soul on every project he decides to work on. I really hope to have the opportunity to work with Adam again in the future!

Adam and I have been working together in Vancouver Film School for both Team Project (Project Hakkermann) and Final Project (Empress Eternal). He worked as the project manager and the VFX artist for both projects. He is very talented that he created many VFX assets in a very efficient way to bring the projects more attractiveness and excitement. He is also extremely passionate about the projects that he would make his greatest effort to keep everything coordinated. He took care of most of the documentation as well as the scheduling plan to keep everyone on the team on track. He is also an amazing person that he brought so much joy to the team that working with him feels very relaxing. Outside of project, he would keep an eye on his teammate's mental health as well and always makes sure nobody is under pressure. It's been a really great pleasure to work with him!

The Final Project at Vancouver Film School; my team and I worked on a 3D isometric hack-and-slash game called Empress Eternal. I was responsible for building all of the visual effects. I built several different shaders, created textures in photoshop, and combined them with particle systems and vfx graph to create a variety of effects.Shaders:- Vertex distortion: using a mask to control which vertices are distorting.- Dither effect: used to dither objects that block avatar from view.- Water shader, utilizing noise for surface movement and foam effect, screen color for refraction, and depth fade to lerp between different colors to represent water depth.- Various others: tiling and offset for particles, heat distortion, etc.Textures:- Player attack effects: using tiling and offset.- Buff effects: using various shaders to allow for emission / fading.Particles / VFX:- Ambient effects: bubbles, floating leaves, swimming fish.- Buff effects: using particles, trail effects, and subsystems.- Damage effects: using VFX Graph Show less
