March 2014 - August 2014: Working in the Corporate department and Regulatory and Compliance department I had a varied workload dealing with clients directly on a day to day basis. Regulatory & Compliance: I worked for a broad variety of clients involved in credit broking and providing credit. I was closely involved with the FCA authorisation application process for firms including secondments and gained experience of reviewing and creating policy documentation. My work also involved general Consumer Credit advice. Corporate: I worked on partnerships, joint ventures and various M&A transactions as well as being involved with university spin out companies. September 2013 to March 2014 Commercial secondment to the University of Reading. During this time I worked within the contracts team and was responsible for negotiating commercially funded research contracts with major blue chip funders. I also worked on research council and EU funded collaborative projects which involved leading negotiations on collaborative projects involving many parties. I also was involved in drafting various IP licence templates and precedents. March 2013 to September 2013: Banking and Finance team in London. I worked on a variety of matters for major banks as well as SMEs. Working for borrowers and lenders I also gained experience in working with high value movable assets and general aviation finance. Had to deal with large numbers of valuable transactions to tight deadlines and under pressure. Previous experience includes general commercial property work for a variety of clients. I have gained insights into the commercial requirements of lessors and lessees in a variety of industries. Additional experience has been gained in professional regulatory work in which I was involved in carrying out investigations for regulators in the healthcare sector. This included investigating allegations of misconduct, incompetence and impairment of fitness to practise.

During my time at University I set up an online retail website and business providing customised clothing to University clubs and societies. I managed and dealt with orders through email and 0800 telephone. Once a commercial relationship was established with the supplier orders were able to be dispatched direct to the customer from the supplier under plain cover. I supplied universities throughout the country with hoodies, polo shirts and sports clothing with personalised designs numbers and names. Advertising was primarily through Facebook and established university contacts.
