    • Live Brief - D&AD New Blood Awards 2022
      • Jan 2022 - Mar 2022

Myself and fellow designer Louis Cavill created a response to a brief set by mobile network GiffGaff for the 2022 D&AD New Blood Awards. We were tasked with pitching a campaign that would encourage the public to recycle old mobile phones and demonstrate GiffGaff’s core value of “mutual giving”. Graphic design, animation and copywriting skills were utilised in order to create materials for the campaign whilst adhering to strict brand guidelines. The main deliverable was a two-minute pitch video edited and animated by myself. Show less

During my time with Loro Crisps, I produced static and animated assets for the plantain chip brand’s website. My work was intended to expand upon the brand’s existing visual identity whilst staying true to their established branding. The role mainly required use of Illustrator and AfterEffects, as well as the Shopify website builder. Frequent contact with my colleagues was maintained throughout the process, both in person and remotely. During my placement at Aldous Creative I was set a brief to design the labelling for a gin bottle. This placement required use of design software such as Photoshop and Illustrator and regular communication with the ‘client’ throughout the process in order to ensure that my outcome fulfilled the brief. Whilst at MidKent College, I secured a work placement at the Turner Contemporary art gallery in Margate. Working as part of a team, I ran workshops for children in which they produced animal-themed artwork. My duties included safely setting up and putting away equipment, encouraging the creativity of children producing artwork and interacting with the general public, including parents. It was a great opportunity to continue to build on my communication skills whilst working in a creative setting. Show less

During my first year at MidKent College, I completed a 36 hour work placement in the art department at a local primary school. I worked closely with an art teacher, assisting her with setting up equipment, teaching students and engaging them with activities. During this time I met and worked with a diverse community of staff and students. The wide variety of tasks carried out and the unpredictable nature of working with children made this a challenging but rewarding experience.
