Adam and I worked together to write and implement all of the side quests in God of War. He was a true partner in the process. Together, with another colleague, we mapped out the timeline, beats, and flow of the quest lines while also tying together the various narrative threads to create a world that felt connected and alive. I reviewed all his scripts from a design standpoint, and always found him to be extremely receptive to feedback and a pleasure to work with. Furthermore, Adam’s dialogue was top notch. On more than one occasion, I found myself laughing out loud or genuinely moved when I heard his stuff in game for the first time. He was someone I could rely on to sit in a room with me for hours and solve tough problems or drive by the desk for a few minutes to ask advice. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

As Narrative Designer on God of War, I was responsible for writing all of the side quests found throughout the games. I learned how to support and develop the game's larger themes through dialog and story, and worked directly with the talented level designers to implement and iterate on these quests throughout development. I wrote all of the game's combat banter, and learned from the studio's engineer's how to tune the frequency and conditions of the dialog so as not to annoy the player. And finally, I wrote the bulk of the Journal Entries from Atreus' perspective, utilizing another in-game medium to develop his character. Show less
