Adam Demers is a multifaceted designer who thinks about the whole package. I had the pleasure of working with him on an exhibit at The Bakken Museum. Adam collaborated closely with our team all the way through production to create a strong and compelling graphic design. I appreciated the way he considered the various aspects of the project, from the content and message to materials and lighting in order to create a cohesive experience for our visitors. Knowing the challenges with our space, Adam even recommended different materials and presentation methods we hadn’t yet considered to make the exhibit more dynamic and engaging. I really enjoyed Adam’s vision, creativity, and enthusiasm and look forward to working with him on future projects.

Adam was a real creative catalyst on our team at Periscope. He’s a very collaborative creative thinker and works well in brainstorms to share ideas and build upon concepts freely. I could always count on him to explore a range of unique solutions to a problem, supported by both compelling creative and solid strategic rationale. I often directed assignments that needed someone who could handle complex information and would be willing to work with others and ask for input when needed, without reservation. Adam handled the pressure of multiple projects and tight timelines well, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to teammates. He was committed to delivering superior work for our clients and his team.

BOOKS, BRANDS, EXHIBITS AND EVENTS — I help clients meet their communications objectives using design as a tool to suss out meaning and make connections. That means giving equal consideration to the message, the way it looks and how people experience it. The “XE” space is a fast-moving territory encompassing graphic design, event production, social media and more. My role was to develop the ideas and carry them through execution, working closely with teammates and vendors to maintain the essential creative spark. During my time at Periscope, I provided a delightfully insane amount of creative concepting, and a few of those ideas came to life: bubble-blowing backpacks for a street team handing out soap samples, a mini-Metrodome where Vikings fans recorded videos, trade show booths and hospitality suites that cut through the conference din and fostered genuine moments of connection, one-of-a-kind fundraising engagements that transformed an industry mingler into a must-attend event, and much more; February, 2013 to February, 2016 www.periscope.com Show less

A soup-to-nuts creative position within a large nonprofit empire. My job as Designer in the marketing department ran the gamut from concepting and creating complete visual identities (campaigns, type and image treatments and logos) to writing (guidelines, headlines and other lines) to photo direction to print production, vendor coordination and client management. Working under the direction of seasoned and demanding art directors, I created production-ready design files, supported the creative staff and contributed to new business pitches. CL's reputation for high-quality craft and creative thinking made it a great place to learn and grow. Although hired to do 80% production and 20% design, the position provided tons of opportunity to grow as a designer, to contribute to concepting and art direction and even to conduct audience research.
