Colwyn Bay Watersports is a community interest company founded in July 2012 to realise the potential of the superb new facilities at Porth Eirias. They provide watersports training in sailing, windsurfing, SUP, powerboat, alongside canoe and kayak hire.As a Duty Senior Manager, I was responsible for the centre's overall safety and conduct on a day to day basis, liaising with Conway mariner coastguard and council to ensure smooth operations. As lead instructor, I ensured tuition standards and customer satisfaction in Sailing, windsurfing and powerboating, as well as physically teaching students or providing cover for local events and exhibits. In relation to my work as a videographer, the experience gained from working in the watersports industry has given me critical skills in events and group management, organised safety and logistics, as well as a niche understanding and competency in water based filming and extreme sports style of videography.
