  Upon joining Billington Structures my role was buying for site requirements, bolts/fixings and plant hire and management. This also included Peter Marshall Steel Stairs The job entailed a steep learning curve within a fast environment. Managing large numbers of plant on site meant liasing with site and project managers. Furthermore, having the skill of orgainising JIT deliveries of site requirements to avoid delays on site and conserving company spending. However, my role has now developed into a subcontract buyer that procures packages running into the multiple millions. A keen understanding of drawings , programmes and budgets in a fast paced environment again is a challenge but rewarding. Constantly monitoring and surpassing KPI's in order for Billington Structures to be one if the industry leaders.

  Upon joining Kloeckner my role was an estimator specialising in the frameless and elegance range. Daily tasks would be understanding drawings and providing quotations. There would be extensive customer relations via phone and email. However, after a while my job developed into the buyer for the framess and elegance range. This involved sourcing and purchasing goods from the continent and Asia. Although a challenging role the role developed myself in undertaking the need for a keen eye for detail and excellent organisation. Tasks also included arranging transport from suppliers into customs and onto the warehouse in which organising with the arrivals was key. Unfortunately, the company eventually disbanded the range and therefore we was all made redundant.
