  My responsibilities at Grand Canal were split between on-set and in-office. While in office, I evaluated Chinese and English screenplays as well as translated/proofread company documents (website copy, subtitles, contracts). One of my larger projects in office was to rework the story for an English language superhero script we were eyeing. In September, Grand Canal began production on director Zhang Meng's latest film Guns and Kidneys 《枪炮腰花》in Baotou, Inner Mongolia.   At Close to the Sun, I worked directly with director Chouchou Ou (欧丑丑）on her new feature film “The Grand Song" 《侗族大歌》. My main responsibilities included applying the film to international film festivals (Golden Globes, Berlin, Victoria, etc.) as well as communicating with the festival coordinators on behalf of the film. I also set up screenings of the film in the US and translated the film script from Chinese to English.
