The placement year at National Grid which directly associated with my degree at university, working in the Gas National Control Centre in Warwick my main role was to ensure the safety and integrity of the gas transportation system and to facilitate the balancing of supply demand through gas pressures and flows.I was part of a team which was responsible for an intricate, long-term strategy and planning of the work required to maintain the gas network which included liaising with transmission crew, compressor stations and is directly connected to consumers and energy suppliers offshore.
