An independent London based engineering consultancy specialising in performance improvement and project development. Primarily working in the downstream oil and gas sector, experience includes conceptual & front-end design, refinery performance improvement, process simulation, model development, feasibility studies, strategic reviews, process troubleshooting, economic assessments, technical due diligence, linear programming, writing reports for submission to clients and producing design packages. Selected Projects: Crude Unit Expansion: Established a novel operating strategy that realised an additional +20% capacity, with only minor modifications required to the plant. Waste Heat Recovery Project: Pre-heated boiler feed water to reduce HP steam generation in Utility Boiler by ~20T/h, realising net fuel savings of over 2.8$M/year. Sulphur Plant Pre-feasibility Study: Technical and economic study of investment options for increased processing of Sour Crude. Off-Gas Recovery Project: Feasibility study and basic design of cryogenic plant recovering LPG and Hydrogen from refinery fuel gas. Profit Improvement Program: Wide ranging performance assessment of a world scale refinery and petrochemical complex. Delayed Coker Unit Expansion: High-level assessment of expansion options for world-scale Delayed Coking unit. This was followed up with a full test-run and more detailed analysis to debottleneck the unit and improve operating performance - increasing fresh feed rate by over 10%. Strategic Review of South African Refinery: Independent review of South Africa’s second largest refinery in preparation for large investment required to meet Clean Fuels 2 (Euro V) legislation. Technical due diligence on $9Billion Naphtha Cracking Complex : Uncovered significant shortfall in energy performance. Presented alternative conceptual designs to the EPC contractor that would deliver major savings in both energy consumption and capital costs. Show less
