We bought a firepit from Target or Wal-Mart a couple years ago and the metal completely rusted out. Sad. :( Instead of just buying another firepit that was made in another country we decided to hire Adam to create a firepit insert. Adam created an extremely heavy duty firepit insert. It is made of 1/8" thick metal that he welded together and I doubt it will need to be replaced in the next 10 years. Adam's work, craftsmanship, and attention to detail is why we chose to have him do this for us. Not only is he a really skilled artist, craftsman, and welder but he is a helluva nice guy. I can't wait to hire Adam again for helping us with our deck, making our attic useful, and other tasks that might come up around our house. Thanks again Adam!

Our Mission is to provide resources and educational programs designed to nurture artistic expression and broaden participation in the arts.We are all about creating opportunities for you to participate, play, and produce your own work. You will find others who are happy to give you their time, experience, and knowledge because the one thing we all have in common is that we believe we are stronger and more creative when we work together.Have you ever needed a logo, website, or poster designed, a venue for an event, performers for your festival, advice on business contracts, or a place to show and sell your work? Have you ever wanted help from a picture framer, printmaker, grant writer, accountant, musician, dancer, welder, carpenter, sculptor, photographer, or filmmaker but didn’t have the money to hire them or know where to find them? Our cooperative is designed like a skills exchange, where we pool our skills together for the benefit of all our members and the Bloomington community. Obviously, you’re still free to make your own arrangements or do business with others, but the point of our nonprofit work is to broaden participation in the arts by encouraging people to teach, learn, and share their skills.Members and volunteers join one of our focus groups, where they contribute their talents and earn “participation capital” in our skills bank and social network. Each artist contributes one hour or more per week to help us thrive, and two additional hours or more per month helping with member projects.Participation capital is a fun way to acknowledge and reward the work of our most active members and volunteers. As a participating member, you’ll gain access to the value and talents of the entire group for your own projects. You’ll also benefit from our creative, production, management and marketing skills for your own arts projects, classes, or events.

Housed in a turn-of-the-century train station building on Bloomington’s near north side, The Rail opened in September of 2011. Originally the luggage storage building for the Monon Line, the building was still in use through the mid-1950s.Every attempt was made to restore the building to its original state; the exposed stone pillars around the back bar as well as the ceiling and the floors in the rear of the building. Trains, mostly delivering coal to the nearby Indiana University power plant, still come by mere feet from the building multiple times a night and add to the ambiance.
