Bio
Justin Eimers
Adam is the one professor that I had that challenged every preconceived notion I ever had, and did so in an honest way looking to improve the relationship I had with God on a practical level. Under his teaching he awakened in me a love for theological studies with all its nuances; from Augustine, Chrysostome, and Gregory of Nyssa to Barth. It was in his class that I acquired respect for theological traditions outside of my own and learned that in most cases these traditions added to the richness of the Christian faith. Learning under Adam prepared me for graduate school making many of my graduate professors a little shocked by my obsession with Karl Barth (which was inherited from Adam) and my willingness to tackle difficult theological topics like supersessionism, Barth's assessment of bibliology, and fascilitating a "dialogue" between Clark Pinnock and Karl Barth with regard to election, determinism, and the sovereignty of God. These ideas and topics that have now shaped my systematic stances and have impressed upon me the importance of theology as essentially practical would not have come to fruition without Adam's tutelage.
