Once I learned how to use Yardi, I became a great resource for any property management gigs that came up. I managed auditing projects and amenity improvement schedules for a 300+ unit luxury apartment building. I brought order to chaos in a couple of disaster-struck offices by organizing contracts, invoices, bank statements, and board minutes. And I enjoyed occasional excursions into the worlds of medical conventions or labor law. Once I learned how to use Yardi, I became a great resource for any property management gigs that came up. I designed and taught courses on business ethics and religion, pairing religiously-influenced ethics texts with topics from that week’s business news. In class, we talked a lot about my favorite business topics: social media, automation, and blockchain. I turned a couple of these pairings into papers that were accepted for academic conferences, so I must have been on to something. Course materials and grades were delivered using the Desire2Learn platform. At Loyola I designed my favorite course of the eleven I've created, an introduction to religious extremism. I included a lot of my own research here, which I had presented at regional and national conferences, so students were getting current scholarship. I also experimented with courses combining theology with modern literature or politics. Course materials and grades were delivered through Sakai. Lewis is strongly committed to the heritage of their Catholic order, so I designed my world religion courses in accordance with the mission of their department and university. I worked with students both at Lewis and at College of DuPage, where Lewis has a 3+1 degree program. Course materials and grades were delivered through Blackboard.
