Responsibilities Following my recent apprenticeship in upholstery I decided to further my education by attending Newcastle College where I hoped to gain a Level 3 Diploma in Sport, the responsibilities that came with attending college were dedicating spare time to studying and focusing on the end product which was to achieve this Qualification. This involved using listening skills in lectures and communicating with staff if you felt you needed things explained in more detail. I also had a responsibility of meeting deadlines which links in with dedicating spare time to studies outside of study hours and being disciplined about your work. Accomplishments I graduated college with a Level 3 Diploma in sport and exercise, and achieved a grade C in my maths which I became determined to do after graduating school at grade D math. Skills Used I felt I developed people skills and learnt to put suggestions forward, so I applied those skills by creating study groups on an evening to aid us all in passing the course. Show less

Apprentice Upholsterer
-
Sep 2011 - Sep 2012
Responsibilities After graduating High School I decided to pursue an apprenticeship in joinery and upholstery, after passing an application and an interview I started this apprenticeship in 2011, I had a responsibility of upholstering a certain amount of chairs in a specific time frame to enable the flow of the factory. I also had to develop listening skills that I would need to learn this trade and how it works. I had a responsibility of sticking to deadlines, being safe with equipment and most importantly studying the trade outside of working hours. Accomplishments After 12 months I accomplished an apprenticeship in upholstery and had been trained on various different machinery and equipment and was offered a full time role which I turned down as I felt It was right to further develop my skills in a different field. Skills Used Communication and listening skills were key to this line of work as there was lots of information to absorb in such little time, however working well as an individual and remaining calm under pressure was also big in this line of work and I felt I conducted it to a high standard.
