Instructor - GIS for Landscape Architects
-
Feb 2008 - Jun 2008
I developed curriculum for and taught this course specific to using GIS as a landscape design and analysis tool. The course examined how land partitioning techniques and infrastructure projects deployed in the 1700's in Upstate New York leave lasting spatial patterns in today's landscape. Using this framework, students developed their design and analysis question, determined what data they would need to answer the question, collected and data, processed the data, generated maps to show their analysis, and created reports show the process and present their outcomes.
