I worked in a residential unit for women with alzheimers and dementia. This was relief work during the Covid19 pandemic. I was (at times) managing a ward of 15-20 patients and 5+ staff during unprecedented widespread health care change. It was a challenging experience dealing with the obvious challenges of the virus, but nursing in full plastic PPE for 12 hour shifts. it was difficult but rewarding and eye opening.
