  I assist with the running up and shutting down of the unit using Yokogawa Digital Control System. As a Unit Attendant at Newport Power Station my duties include routine checks of running plant, problem solving and diagnosis of any abnormality within the Boiler, Turbine, Water Treatment Plant and auxiliary plant. I am also required to provide feedback to the Senior Plant Controller on the units running condition and report any defects to the Maintenance Manager. On yearly outages my supervisory skills are utilised to manage the tasked assigned to me. These tasks range from Boiler inspections, repairs and any modifications required to the plant.

I also supervise and prepare contractors and equipment for yearly outage work.
