Data Analyst
-
Feb 2016 - Aug 2017
Analysed data metrics relative to inventory, supply chain, and colleague productivity. Utilised proprietary software to manage thousands of products for Loblaw’s locations across Canada. The position was an incredible learning experience. My work was highly collaborative, which has taught me to appreciate a space in which ideas are developed creatively and implemented. All my work was self-directed, and as such, I was responsible for setting my timelines. I developed many key abilities, such as the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and to create a self-driven work schedule. The ability to manage my timelines has greatly benefited me when returning to study Law. Show less

Project Assistant
-
Aug 2015 - Aug 2015
I worked as part of a small team in the development of a sustainability proposal for a Canadian university. Actively researched topics on environmental sustainability, campus energy policies, and local environmental initiatives. I drafted a portion of the final report for submission. In this role I was a junior member of a small team, working alongside leading individuals in the environmental and educational sectors. The position taught me to explore topics I had studied from a new perspective; I was brought out of my comfort zone because my work was being reviewed and critiqued by influential people who held positions in a field I eagerly wished to work in. The most valuable lesson I learned was the importance of providing accurate, timely accounts. When I presented my report, it was important for me to feel I was providing the best information possible. This research created a better understanding of our objectives; my analysis showed that environmental issues must be balanced against economic and societal issues. Show less

Seismic Technician/Pre-Condition Sureyor
-
May 2013 - Aug 2013
Efficiently conducted conditional survey inspections, and monitored ground vibrations using seismographs. Completed detailed written reports with accompanying photographs in the field. Using Excel, provided daily project updates, and prepared observational notes for further analysis. Regularly trained new staff for fieldwork. The position taught me to think creatively to problem solve in the field. Day to day my work was remote, and as such, I did not have a direct supervisor observing my work, this allowed me to develop my schedule around stringent deadlines. Show less

Sep 2012 - Dec 2012
Worked as part of a team monitoring water wells and gas vents at landfill sites, I analysed and accurately recorded field data using Excel. Senior management used my completed formal reports, which is why it was important for me to complete my work accurately and promptly. Our monitoring team consisted of three individuals, of which I was the most junior, this allowed me to greater develop my ability to work alongside colleagues under strenuous conditions. The conditions were strenuous because our deadlines repeat seasonally, and as such, they could not be missed under any circumstances. Show less
