I started on the ISA Team where I was responsible for chasing customers ISA transfers from other banks. it required I use good communication and problem solving skills to arrange swift action to chase late transfers. After the ISA season madness I moved to the Accounts Team where I was part of a team responsible for closing accounts and ensuring the correct closing balance was sent to the customer in the form of a cheque. Working on this team required good attention to detail and helped me to develop a strong work ethic while working on a repetitive task. After a few months on the Accounts Team I was transferred to the Accounts Transfer Research Team. This is a small specialist team that worked to resolve issues occurring during the accounts transfer process. For this role I had to have a good understanding of the entire Transfer Process and use my problem solving skills to locate the exact point a customers issue had occurred and then create possible solutions. I then had to use my Interpersonal skills to discuss the solution with customers who were usually angry or upset about the transfer delay. I was seconded to the Procedures Helpdesk during the Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland merger while the new Halifax and BOS staff settled into the new branch procedures. The Procedures Helpdesk takes calls from Branch Staff who are uncertain on how to carry out certain tasks. We advised on the procedure and showed them the location of step by step instructions for each task on the Lloyds Network. This role was telephony based and required good product knowledge and communication skills. Show less
