Project Manager, Social Impact Projection
-
Jan 2015 - Dec 2015
GoodCompany Ventures accelerates the growth of start-ups with innovation solutions to big, unmet social and environmental challenges. In 2015 I led the development and prototyping of GoodCompany Ventures' Social Impact Projection tool, a streamlined projection model for capturing the economic value of a firm's social impact relative to its core business. SIP is designed to help entrepreneurs and investors shed light on the relationship between revenue growth and impact growth, helping to measure the efficacy of the business as a lever for social change. Throughout 2015 I led worked with dozens of GoodCompany portfolio companies and other startups across the country to test and refine the SIP model, while providing founders with a valuable tool for assessing and communicating their capacity to create measurable positive impact. Entrepreneur in Residence
-
Jun 2013 - Jun 2014
The key objective of GSF is to spur innovation and entrepreneurship through angel and seed investing. Our larger mission is to encourage flow of informed, knowledgeable mentorship capital to the start-ups in India and beyond. As an Entrepreneur in Residence I helped to manage GSF's Accelerator Program in Delhi while mentoring seed-stage technology companies on topics such as product-market fit, the business model canvass, UI/UX, customer segmentation, design, fundraising, and marketing. I am also working with GSF's Founder and select EIRs on the development of GSF Impact, a new iteration of the GSF model with a focus on high-impact technology companies that combat poverty in India and across the world. Development Finance Analyst, Impact Investing

Apr 2011 - May 2013
The Aga Khan Foundation works to address the root causes of poverty by supporting and sharing innovative solutions in the areas of health, education, rural development, civil society and the environment. Using community-based approaches to meet basic human needs, the Foundation builds the capacity of community and non-governmental organizations to have a lasting impact on reducing poverty. From 2011-2013 I helped to build AKF USA’s Impact Investing Initiative from its inception, including AKF’s first-ever investment portfolio. During this time our Initiative mobilized $36 million for a Pakistani health network, an Afghan microfinance bank, and the Nairobi City Park. Beyond fundraising and enterprise-level support, I managed external relationships around social performance metrics, investor networks, and communications strategies. This entailed writing memos and blogs on trends in impact investing, due diligence reports on investors, supporting the impact investing sector through participation in working groups, attending conferences, and instructing staff on social and financial innovation. FPRI is a non-profit organization devoted to bringing the insights of scholarship to bear on the development of policies that advance U.S. national interests. We add perspective to events by fitting them into the larger historical and cultural context of international politics. As one of two members of the China Team, I compiled a detailed database of all research and civil society organizations in Mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong and their affiliations as part of ongoing "Think Tanks and Civil Societies" Program. I also researched censorship and autonomy of think tanks in East Asia and contributed my insights to an article entitled "The Three Chinas: Censorship and Civil Society". Show less
