Bio
Mark Walker
Adam always approached his role as Mathcad QA Manager with an effective level of detail and organization. His team coordination, data analysis capabilities, and both written and oral communication skills helped drive clear and complete organizational decisions. He was diligent about such QA status reporting, and was also dedicated to understanding published software standards. When an appropriate standard did not exist, he and his team would create guidelines – all with a goal of driving measurement and reporting consistency. When deviations were encountered, across any related products or processes, Adam would ensure they were clearly documented and communicated. Adam’s natural talents in process documentation, fact-driven analysis, and organization would make him a strong addition to any QA team.
Sue Gherbi
Adam is a well-rounded QA manager, with a keen ability to remain focused on the details of the job while staying personable at the same time. He takes the time to distribute responsibilities and manage workloads, being driven by product release goals and metrics, rather than by micromanaging the actual QA tasks being performed. More specifically, Adam took the time to develop standards and procedures, and adhere to guidelines in order to methodically mentor more junior team members (especially those that were offshore) - while allowing the more experienced team members to do independently what they do best. Over the course of his time with Mathcad, I witnessed Adam continue to build upon this approach, and ultimately bring a large degree of documentation and standardization to a team that had very little formality before he joined. He is passionate about establishing accessibility and usability that is consistent with generally accepted UI guidelines. He also excels at aggregating disparate data and presenting them in a way that clearly communicates trends for others, including more senior management, to draw appropriate conclusions. Adam maintains his composure and objective outlook on a daily basis, and serves as an excellent communicator between globally distributed team members. He has always demonstrated flexibility in between the pressures of a release schedule and the realities of testing metrics, yet still manages to bring some light humor to the group with his educated and cultural wit. He is extremely organized, well spoken, and doesn't let his emotions interfere with the team responsibilities. Those daily consistencies and unwavering professionalism made it a pleasure to work with Adam.
