divnr is an AI-powered app that decodes your emotional state for present and future reflection & communication.Realising the ambition to become the defacto standard means of emotional communication, through innovative technology, great collaborations, and customer insights.

I produced a PoC for a platform that analyses a user’s verbal diary input and translates this into emotional indicators that can provide guidance for themselves and those around them. The platform utilises Kotlin, AWS (Lambda, EKS, SQS, SNS, EC2), Neo4J, MongoDB, Spring Boot, Spring Webflux, Spring Security, Okta OAuth2, React.js, EMQX MQTT Broker, and Kubernetes. The project required an inventive approach to an abstract problem, and called upon lateral thinking and self discipline to produce the fully operational solution. Selection and integrations with third party solutions needed extensive product analysis and close collaboration with offsite technical and sales teams.

During this period I was working with the Connected Cars team, and heavily involved with making new services available to the vehicle owner via backend integrations. This involved a Spring Boot layer to mediate requests from the evolving mobile application, ensuring flexibility that facilitated the front end demands, whilst ensuring continuity in areas of security and stability. In addition to the core project work, I was also investigating potential authentication solutions for non-critical use cases, which included evaluations of Auth0 and Okta services.

Hubert is a startup that is primarily focused on assisting teachers with student engagement using multiple communication channels and AI. My role at Hubert was as Technical Architect, and as with previous roles, my position was to be fully involved in the creative process, and then translating the requirements that arose from these discussions into real and scalable backend solutions. I was also required to develop the Scrum skills for the junior members of the team. Key technologies within this team were Neo4J, Spring, Websockets, OAuth2, Rabbit MQ, Docker and IBM Bluemix, and Twilio.

I worked at Dynamo on a number of projects, one key project being Sevn. This was an in- house incubator project that focused on creating social networks for specific events. I was heavily involved in the concept development, giving technical insights into feasibility and additional possibilities. It was during this period that I worked for the first time with Neo4J graph database in a professional capacity. This role required deep understanding of Data Modelling, DevOps (AWS), Spring, Websockets, OAuth2, and Message Queues.

Within Sogeti I worked as a Digital Architect across a number of projects. One highlight was providing technical consultancy for the largest Swedish auto classifieds company in the nordics with a merger with a Norwegian company. I analysed both solutions from their respective organisations, as well as their operational differences, and delivered a documented recommendation for the best blend of technical solution to their parent company. Within apegroup I adopted the role of Architect, and took many initiatives to improve the overall technical operations of the company. These included the modularisation of existing and new code structures, the approach of TDD within the project teams, and the move towards innovating integration layers between mobile development and the client backend using Spring Boot technology. The mobile projects varied between radio and television broadcast in the case of MTG (www.mtg.se), retail in the case of McDonalds (SV,NO,FI,UK), ICA (www.ica.se), and Siemens Security. I was involved in the full life cycle of the projects, from project pitch to delivery. Using my ability to communicate to effectively understand client requirements at the earliest stage and deliver solutions that continued to meet expectations. Essentially, my role was to create a consistent technical direction for the 40 developers, and provide a conduit to the client backend systems, so the team were able to deliver on the mobile platform as efficiently and reliably as possible.

Working between many development roles relating to maintenance, production support, and product development. Improving integration with the SAP backend system involved detailed communication with the team implementing the system in Germany. When issues did arise in the production environment, understanding the range of technologies (ATG, JBoss, GWT, Spring, SOAP) and investigative techniques was essential in pinpointing issues and creating effective, “patchable” solutions. At Philips, I dealt with areas of low performance on an existing ATG installation. Thorough analysis of the code for antipatterns, as well utilising profiling and load testing tools to identify memory, CPU and threading issues. I quickly identified critical areas and provided key solutions that led to a 30 percent increase in overall performance. I continually ensured visibility with concise reports that associated each code/configuration change to specific performance enhancements.

Refactoring of an existing system with an MVC approach to allow for greater separation of concerns between the business logic, visual presentation and data representation. This required a clear understanding of business constraints with respect to deployment in a production environment, and the potential impact on existing functionality. The role also required the provision of guidance in the area of integration between Spring and ATG, leading an effort in creating a reusable solution between both, and ensuring synchronicity of data between the two solutions.
