At Castle Air Museum I was able to work with a BOEING B-29A named Superfortress, which is the first of the true "Heavy Bombers" and the pressurized bomber. The Superfortress was used almost exclusively in the Pacific theater of World War 2 primarily in Japan. In this position I was able to work with archives and research and write a detailed description and background about the B-29A which was displayed at the Castle Air Museum. At Breakthrough Collaborative I was a teaching fellow at Sacramento Country Day School in Sacramento, CA. This fellowship consisted of me learning to lesson plan, manage a classroom, instructional strategies, feedback techniques, and other essential learning tools. I received regular coaching from professional educators, led family conferences and participated in team meetings, taught a core academic writing class and an elective music class. I worked with a diverse group of highly motivated students, staff, and teachers, and was able to learn how to receive and deliver actionable feedback, practice presentation skills, and sharpen time management and project planning skills. At the State Capitol I was a summer intern for Assemblymember Roger Hernandez two summers in a row and also Senator Holly Mitchell for one summer. During this internship I basically did clerical duties and was the Secretary’s assistant. Some of the things I had to do was attend floor sessions, help the legislative aides brief the Assemblymember on bills and policies and check and deliver mail to each staffer in the office.
