Adam is a unique 'techie' who not only has a deep understanding of technology, but also a solid understanding of the commercial realities facing an SME like g-Nostics. When we had a mission critical problem, Adam solved it. When we needed advice on Internet technologies, process improvements or software development Adam proved knowledgeable and gave clear, practical recommendations. He communicated well and grasped new things quickly. It was a pleasure working with Adam, and I would unreservedly recommend him as a consultant, team member or employee.

Adam is a great guy to work with, from both a professional and personal standpoint. He's knowledgeable and picks new things up very quickly, is a very good communicator, is friendly and helpful and never patronising, and is calm under pressure.

Supporting & mentoring a diverse team of developers, testers and other techies. Also attempting to move a large and rather creaky corporate mentality to something more agile, flexible and self-aware.

I'm finally taking the time off that I promised myself about 10 years ago. Not exactly going hermit and living in a cave, but deciding to dance to my own tune for a while. At the moment that mainly means playing with a few Raspberry Pi projects (hurrah for cheap, tiny servers and IoT widgets with pretty blinkenlights). I'm also learning some of the newer hip software the cool kids have been talking about over the past few years, as well as some of the cloudy, devops tools. Also climbing and biking a lot more.

Involved in design, development, deployment and maintenance of various (mainly web based) software systems to support internal and client facing financial management processes. Mainly based on Java/JEE/Spring, XML/XSL, Oracle, with heavy use of modern web technologies (JQuery, HTML5, Bootstrap, etc). Learned more about Oracle, Hibernate, Spring and JQuery than is healthy. Also built some financial mashup projects using various Google APIs and card payment provider services. This was a full-time remote role, building on my earlier remote working projects, meaning I now have over ten years experience of remote working software development practices.

If it's code I'll write it, if it's a software problem I'll find a solution, if it's a process problem I'll discuss it.I've wound down this work now, due to accepting a permanent position. It's unlikely I'll accept new work at the moment.

Won a place on the RRDS graduate training programme in the software engineering team responsible for designing & building radar systems for defence use. Mainly concentrated on embedded user interface systems, involving lots of bit-twidding in C and 68k assembler along with higher level systems in Ada. Some of that code may still be running in various grey ships and helicopters.
