In the fall semester at Wright State in 2022, I had the opportunity to have Adam Kempf as an adjunct professor for Fundamentals of Criminal Investigation. From the very first time meeting him in class I knew that he was an adjunct professor for a reason. Adam was very kind hearted, open-minded and willing to work with any of my colleagues. He was someone I knew I could use as an example in my future careers, due to his career path that he shared with us. One thing I learned from Adam was to open up more and to share what you know or are feeling, and that it is okay to be wrong, but to seek for the correct answers if needed. For example, at the beginning of class he always asked us if any of us had experienced any criminal activity or had anything to share related to the class, and it always got the class started of an open note. Adam will be someone I remember from the educational career at Wright State! I will always appreciate his care for teaching and also his care to get to know each student to the best of his ability towards our future career goals.

I worked as the field Commander overseeing the day to day field operations of the narcotics task force that Adam was assigned to as a detective. Adams work effort was outstanding. He was always thinking outside the box about new and unique ways to attack an investigation. When other agents were sitting around waiting for direction, Adam was out in the field thinking on his own on how to gather evidence or information to help further an investigation. If he was not out in the field, he was in my office discussing new or better ways to build the case. Due to Adams ever constant and evolving train of thought and his enthusiasm to progress the agency in a positive way, I would recommend Adam for any leadership position in an agency that is looking for ingenuity and creativity to advance their companies future.
