In Autumn 2022, I was head-hunted for a design role at Hospitality Projects and joined in early December. In the first month, I hit the ground running, as I had to adapt and learn on my feet while I adjusted to this fast-paced company. In the first three months, I worked on designing a range of furniture for The Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, an up-and-coming luxury 5-star hotel opening in spring 2023, as I designed a selection of tables, chairs and sofas as part of a project with the more seasoned designers in the company. On top of my role as a Furniture Designer, I manage the social media platforms as the company expands looking for new ways to advertise. Through this, I have been able to undertake UI/UX designing on our website and plan graphic layouts and mood boards for the company's Instagram. Show less

During my placement year in 2021, as I commuted to and from London daily, I searched for a productive way to eat up the lengthy journeys. I yearned for something artistic, but not work-related, so I could unwind from my day whilst still grasping a sense of design and productivity. As I let my mind unravel on digital paper, my first stream-of-consciousness drawing came to life, now known as 'A head full of nothing', it spurred a new avenue for my expression and design. I soon needed a way to promote and market my assets but didn't want to risk investing too much capital into the side project before it got up to speed. I discovered Everpress.com, a sustainable print company that prints onto garments and releases independent designs on a pre-order basis, this allowed me to promote and sell my artwork effortlessly; the AS.collection was born! • Plasterer
      • Jun 2019 - Dec 2022

I started plastering as a teenager with my father (early 2014-5), learning the basic skills to form a fall-back career. Within the summer of 2019, I took on full-time day work with my father - alongside Tesco on weekends and evenings, and the pub on evenings- to help me fund my second-year at university. Working on a team of 3-5 people as a capable and competent plasterer. Through doing this at an early age I built up my confidence to get my first contracted job at Tesco. Since then it has helped me with conversational skills and how I present myself to the customers we would work for. Having now finished University along side my plan to take a year out before transitioning into my design career I have picked up full time work as a plasterer again. Outside of this job I am continuing to build my design skills, work on my portfolio and set myself up for my next big career path after university. Show less
