The Africa Minigrid Developers Association (AMDA) is an industry association supporting the scaling-up of decentralized energy utility companies building minigrids for rural energy access across Africa. Globally, energy poverty is recognized as a key impediment to countries’ and individuals’ potentials to lead fulfilling, healthy and productive lives. Renewable minigrids have the potential to ensure stable, consistent power throughout the continent, while also building climate resilience and mitigating carbon emissions. Minigrids currently electrify off-grid towns, parts of cities, rural and remote communities, and are increasingly interlinked with national grids to provide more stable power within existing weak grid networks. I am responsible for leading the development and implementation of a communications strategy that builds up a powerful and coherent industry voice to decision makers internationally and at the national level across Africa. Bridge runs community schools in low-income communities across Africa, using disruptive technology to deliver life-changing education and opportunity to millions of children from underserved communities. WFP is engaged in a digital transformation process which is combining the powers of innovation, technology and data in order to fundamentally change its existing business model. To this end, WFP opened a new Digital Transformation Hub in Nairobi in 2018 to bring development of solutions closer to operational needs in the field. The aim is to support Country Offices more closely, through digital technology, in achieving their Country Strategic Plans (CSP). I executed communication plans and activities for key projects within the Digital Transformation Hub. Show less

Mercy Corps believes that digital innovation can revolutionize the way smallholder farmers feed the world. Based on years of learning and iterating, AgriFin model was built to facilitate that process. The Mastercard Foundation served as a catalytic innovation partner for AgriFin, enabling Mercy Corps to test the AgriFin model in Kenya, Tanzania, and Zambia – 3 countries with varying levels of digital ecosystem development. AgriFin Accelerate invested significantly in achieving impact and producing learning at the farmer, institutional, and ecosystem levels. I developed and implemented a communications and engagement strategy for the AgriFin program in Sub Sahara Africa targeting various stakeholders, and provided quality documentation from field visits with evidence on various projects’ impact on individual beneficiaries.
