      • Dec 2022 - Present

I am now in charge of organising the external trips for a school of over 2000. Although challenging, this role is teaching me about the behind-the-scenes process for organising big events, such as budgeting and cost implications. By working in a school, I am also having to consider GDPR and Safeguarding risks. This role is definitely eye-opening to future possibilities of employment, giving me lots of new skills and areas of interest!

    • Tiffin Team Member
      • Jul 2021 - Present

Over the summer of 2021, I worked as a Tiffin Team Member, primarily based at their beach site on a caravan park in Brean. As this was a prime holiday destination, I was very busy completing various different tasks. In this role I was bar-trained, as well as working in pot wash, front of house, running food, clearing tables and the ice cream parlour. As this site had seating for 300 outside, I often worked on the outside bar, setting it up and serving drinks. I found this experience to be incredibly beneficial to a wider range of skills needed, such as teamwork, conflict management, empathy and self- motivation. As of July 2022, I have resumed this role, working for Tiffin in a small village. This has taught me more managerial skills, and I am now handy with a coffee machine! Show less

In this role I write articles centred around health and well-being practices to be published on the Thrive4Life blog and client newsletters. These articles vary in length, from 800 words to 2,500. I have been given briefs on various different subjects, aimed at different employee types. These have included discussing workplace presenteeism for an employer perspective, as well as focussing on employee practices surrounding mental health and well-being. As this work is Freelance, it has allowed me to greater my self-motivation, as well as increasing my understanding on subjects I wasn’t familiar with before hand. Show less

      • Oct 2021 - Jun 2022

In this role, I am in charge of a team of 5 sub-editors to ensure all content published by Nouse and MUSE is uniform in style. I have updated the Style Guide used to make it more coherent, as well as listening to the section editors to see if there are any discrepancies that had been missed out of the guide previously. I also have the final read through of all documents to make sure they are published without error, most notably in our recent print edition, where I read the entire paper closely to check for SPaG. When the sub team is based in the office, I worked closely with the production director to create timetables and check lists that could be followed to ensure everyone was aware of their set tasks. • Merchandise Secretary
      • Oct 2021 - Jun 2022

Most recently with Nouse, Molli and I have been in charge of creating the first ever merchandise for the society. This involved us finding a company to work with, as well as creating a design and working out the finances of the individual pieces. We decided on two designs - a quarter zip fleece and a sweatshirt - both of which have been received with high amounts of praise. I had to work closely with the representative from the company, as well as liaising with the senior team at Nouse to ensure everyone’s voices were heard. After the merchandise arrived, Molli and I were in charge of distribution, which was aided by various spreadsheets I had created to ensure everyone received the correct merchandise. Show less
