SHLT protects and manages nearly 3,000 acres in Lake, Porter, LaPorte, St. Joseph, Marshall, and Starke Counties in northwestern Indiana. The VC serves as the lead staff person for volunteer recruitment, training, engagement, retention, and tracking. As a member of the Engagement Team, the VC will support communications that raise SHLT’s profile and broadens our audience, member, and volunteer base. Volunteers are the heart of our organization. People from various walks and stages of life, generously donate their time and talent to help us accomplish all aspects of our work. The SHLT volunteer program connects people to our nature preserves, helps increase membership and engagement, and contributes significant land stewardship capacity.
