As a learning assistant I helped teach the recitations for Chemistry I and Chemistry II. The courses Chemistry I and Chemistry II are undergraduate-level course designed to provide students with an introduction to the science behind chemistry and scientific thought. This course consisted of a lecture, lab and a recitation. Once a week students would attend a recitation taught by an undergraduate learning assistant and a graduate teaching assistant where students were given a detailed and in-depth review of the concepts and topics taught in lecture and lab. My responsibilities included preparing lesson plans with the department, teaching and reviewing concepts during recitation, holding office hours, assisting in test reviews prior to exams and teaching students basic lab techniques to prepare students for the courses corresponding lab.
