Since I have begun working at the Moose lodge, I built upon my skills in multitasking and managing customer needs. I have been able to provide exceptional customer service to not only regular but first time patrons, displaying that our establishment is family style dining through and through. I was able to create a positive and friendly environment with my service while maintaining professionalism. Along with this, I improved my money handling skills with both cash and credit card receipts. Being an AmeriCorps member, I facilitate learning interventions and help set benchmarks for children and their learning process. I contributed my time to help with teacher coverages throughout the school year and the summer. Being in the classroom with children and completing interventions gave me more one-to-one experience with children, while also gaining experience being at the head of the classroom during coverages. Private Tutor

As a tutor, I was given the chance to have free choice what we do with our study time. This allowed me to oversee homework being done and make informal assessments about where the student(s) stand within their schools curriculum. The insight needed to form small lessons and extra practice that the children need was gained through this. It allowed me to get a better sense of working with children and establishing what their academic needs are without physically seeing their exams or report cards. Show less

Lifeguard

May 2018 - Aug 2019
With lifeguarding, I learned what it was to have eyes, ears, and my presence within a large group of people. Maintaining watch of the aquatic and pool deck area gave me a sharp eye for detail and subtle cues of distress or mischief. It also provided me with quick reflexes and having a minimal reaction time because of the fact that we have to react quickly to be able to save lives if need be. Becoming First Aid and CPR certified through this job gave me more knowledge about the medical side of dealing with children and how their bodies react in distress. I was able to further develop my skills on how to maintain the focus of multiple children while teaching a lesson, which in tis case was swimming lessons. Show less
