The opportunity that I got to be in this Laboratory gave me a very meaningful analytical and instrumental analysis skills sharpening hands on. I would do organic analysis to determine organic compounds in oil, monitor contamination, degradation and additive depletion. Since it is known that wrong viscosity may indicate wrong oil, contamination, fuel dilution, sooting and oxidation, viscosity analysis using a viscometer could not be skipped as part of the whole process. I would also do some particle count to determine the cleanliness level of the oil in addition to water-in-oil detection as well as ignition point checks. Working with UV-VIS spectrometer, AA Spec, FTIR and multi analyzer was a good carrier strength element.
