I supervised Abby remotely over the course of 10 weeks during a summer internship facilitated by Macalester College. In spite of the COVID-19 pandemic, I was impressed by Abby’s resilient mindset and ability to balance a variety of tasks spanning customer development, market research, technical writing, and usability testing. With her analytical mind and aptitude for learning, Abby immediately contributed her strengths to the team. She also demonstrated an ability to grow, taking on unfamiliar tasks such as customer discovery interviews. By the end of the internship, she was proficient at building rapport with potential customers in an interview setting. Abby’s work helped the team achieve strategic goals, including testing our prototype with users and improving a research grant proposal. Abby’s friendly interactions and broad research input demonstrated her team-oriented attitude and resourcefulness. As a supervisor, I personally appreciated Abby’s candor and coordination.
