I worked originally as a temp from April to August, mainly focusing on document production(hard copy and digitally) and distribution. I was employed full time from August till December where I became a valuable member to the team and I started to become really involved in the office and with my colleagues. I still worked with document production but I also took on handling multiple email boxes, dealing with document requests for Wills, Deeds etc, as well as dealing with deliveries from clients and couriers. I spent the latter half of my employment solely manning reception and dealing with clients, calls and enquiries, booking meeting rooms, making sure drop offs were getting to the correct location, assembling legal documents and letters to be collected/posted off and dealing with the extra paperwork surrounding such documents. As well as being a helping hand to anyone in the office or working from home who needs assistance. I gained a valuable experience in how to correctly deal with important documents in a very specific time frame and am very familiar with the process of ordering, storing and sending back documents in a way where everything is safe and secure, making sure to keep the correct people informed and up to date. I have also furthered my professionalism with clients and colleagues and can confidently deal with a variety of situations. Show less

I worked closely within the Residential Property team, where I built my confidence. My role within the Residential Team was quite varied, I was exposed to a variety of skills and different jobs within the team. I worked on file opening as well as archiving; learning the thorough process of how to do them correctly. I also worked a lot with HMLR (Land Registry), and this gave me a good knowledge on the forms used in conveyancing and the correct ways of completing them; as well as HelpToBuy forms. I often created Deeds of Covenants and Leases from scratch and have mild experience using OyezForms. I liaised regularly by phone and email with Clients, Estate Agents and other solicitors as well as, banks and the HMLR. I also took on general jobs, such as letters, faxes, sorting/sending post. When I wasn’t working within the team, I was either covering reception, or I got opportunities to work in other teams, such as Commercial Property and Private Client. I got the chance to cover for a paralegal in Private Client for a few weeks and I learnt about a different side of the firm which I had never experienced before, this is where I got experience in dictation and the handling of Wills and trusts, I also opened a few new files for the team during this time. My Job Title was an Administrative Apprentice. I Worked 4 days a week and 1 day a week at college. I Achieved 100% and got my qualification (Business Administration Level 2 NVQ Diploma) as well as (Functional Skills Level 1 I.C.T) I got a variety of valuable experience working throughout the firm, that has helped me within my further Jobs Show less
