      • Aug 2016 - Jul 2017

In this one year program, the focus of Public Media students is producing produce programming for Athens' PBS-affiliate station, WOUB. As a Public Media student, I acted as a liaison between WOUB and Ohio University's Immersive Media Initiative, a student workforce training program that prepares students for career paths in immersive technology (virtual and augmented reality). I specialized in 360-degree video recording and editing, using myriad 360-degree video hardware and software to design, produce, record, edit, and publish non-fiction, documentary-style 360-degree videos. Academically, I utilized my opportunities in this program to became an apt researcher and data analyst. I have utilized multiple programs (Netlytic, Semantria, Gephi, Microsoft Excel, and SPSS) to collect, clean and analyze data in order to answer research questions and hypotheses. I have extensive experience reading, reviewing, critiquing and writing academic papers. Show less

    • 360 Videographer
      • Aug 2015 - Jul 2017

I was lucky to be introduced to immersive technology, specifically 360° video, because of opportunities provided by Ohio University's Immersive Media Initiative. I participated in my first 360° production in August of 2015, the result of which was "Re-Disappearing," a 9-minute 360° fictional short produced by the IMI.In spring of 2016 I was asked to participate in an independent study that focused on how to create effective 360° content, specifically in regard to one script. This encompassed all components of production: script revisions; talent and location scouting; line production; shot lists; music rights; transportation of equipment; scene direction and staging; distribution and marketing through offline and online platforms. It also involved gaining hands-on experience with equipment such as Ricoh Theta 360° cameras and 3Dio binaural microphones.I spent the summer of 2016 working for the Immersive Media Initiative as a 360° video production assistant. I continued to work in this capacity throughout the duration of my graduate assistantship. Show less

      • May 2014 - Feb 2015

As reviews editor for ACRN Media, I was in direct contact with our writing staff as I offered them articles to write and then edited these articles. Improving the writing skills of others greatly enhanced my own, and this experience greatly improved my editing skills. Knowledge of proper sentence structure, AP format, correct sourcing and social awareness allowed me to improve the content of our many reviews and allowed me to meet a great deal of talented writers.

Another part of this position included attending community events on the weekends and representing the GCA. • Zip Dip

      • Mar 2009 - Aug 2013

Zip Dip forever! As my first job, Zip Dip taught me many invaluable lessons about time management, money management, cooperation, responsibility and customer service. Interacting directly with customers--taking their orders, handling cash flow and making small conversation--was very beneficial as every job I have held since required interacting with others and working directly with them. Responsibilities increased the longer I worked there, and eventually grew to include opening and closing the store, closing the register at night and locking up the day's income. Maintenance and upkeep of the store was required, as was occasional stocking and ordering of items. Show less
