Additive manufacturing (AM) has emerged as a substitute when we are looking to manufacture a complex structure without any joints. My work focuses on AM-316L steels to be used for high temperature application and on its susceptibility to intergranular corrosion (IGC). During my work at CSIR-AMPRI Bhopal I worked on processing of shape memory alloys using vacuum induction melting furnace at pilot scale. I have experience of handling big furnaces which operate in the range of 1200-1600 °C. I am also experienced in quick characterization techniques such as XRF, ultrasonic testing etc. Apart from that I also used some advanced characterization instruments such as XRD, UDM, atomic absorption spectroscopy, inductively coupled plasma-mass spectroscopy, Electron microscopy (SEM and TEM) and universal hardness testing machine which are generally used in manufacturing plants and in academic setup.
