My work at the NRC involves accumulating, generating, and providing information on historical and future climate and natural hazards for effective testing of building envelopes and adapting them to the impacts of climate change. I am also responsible for developing interactive tools that can be used by building practitioners to access climate data, and related impacts. • Providing building experts with building simulation climate files, and reliable information on the magnitude, frequency, and duration of natural hazards such as extreme winds, extreme rainfall, heat spells, urban heat island, flooding, wildfires etc., for current and future projected time-periods.• Served as Project Manager for projects from Codes Canada, and nationally important Climate Resilient Buildings and Core Public Infrastructure (CRBCPI) and Climate Resilient Built Environment (CRBE) projects.• Serving as Weather/Climate data lead for International Energy Agency Buildings and Communities (IEA-EBC) Programme on developing climate resilient cooling in buildings (Annex 80) and International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (CIB) program on enhancing durability in buildings W80.• Leading NRC’s working group on updating buildings related climate design parameters in the 2025 National Building Code (NBC) and National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB) for climate change.• Recipient of NRC Construction Research Centre’s 2021 “Research and Technology Breakthrough” and "Best Publication", 2020 “Small Teams Initiative”, 2018 “Value for Canada” and “Rising Star” awards “for being a highly effective leader in the field of climate science for building resilience, and for achieving outcomes that surpassed expectations”. As a postdoctoral fellow, i had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects that dealt with delineation of future flood risk across Canada under climate change, preparation of future land-cover forecasts for Canada, preparation of Intensity-Duration-Frequency curves for ungauged sites, and quantification of Urban Heat Island magnitudes at 20 Canadian cities.
