I was part of the NORCOWE project. My contribution within the project was scientific research in the turbulence modeling for wind energy resource and assessment. During the project, we have analysed the effects of coherence on the wind turbine fatigue loads– using observations from NREL’s met-mast as well as TurbSim and FAST simulations (Chougule et al., 2016). I have also worked on simplification of the turbulence model for wind energy (Chougule et al., 2017), to reduce the model parameters… I was part of the NORCOWE project. I have also worked on simplification of the turbulence model for wind energy (Chougule et al., 2017), to reduce the model parameters (from five to four) using similarity theory (work published in BLM). The work is projected with a goal of developing simulation tool based on the model, for generation of synthetic data including effects of atmospheric stability. The synthetic data can further be used in the aeroelastic tools to predict loads on wind turbine due to the turbulence. Six journal papers and four conference posters were published during postdoc plus, contributed to project’s annual reports and inputs to research proposals including KPN application. Within the project, I had presented during NORCOWE’s Turbulence Workshop at Statoil; NORCOWE conference in Bergen; and at project’s several scientific and non-technical meetings. I had also conducted teaching of wind energy master and bachelor courses ENE414 and ENE232, respectively; with the responsibilities—slide preparations, mathematical exercises, programming tutorials, etc. Show more Show less

Jun 2014 - Mar 2015
I had worked on a contract from DTU Wind Energy in development, improvement and validation of stability based spectral tensor model of atmospheric turbulence. My work also included providing data analyses and research-based consultancy, where I worked as experienced software professional within the area of wind-resource assessment.
