Dr. Muhammad Saleem

This is to certify that Mr. Abdulrahman Majdi a graduate student from the Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering, Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University, Saudi Arabia from August 2015 to May 2020. Abdulrahman is very motivated and willing to participate in problem solving contexts. He proved himself more than capable of working individually as well as a member of a team. He is able to analyze and evaluate energy efficiency that includes identifying the factors that affect system performance and sustainability. He shows excellent abilities in the field of the fundamentals of project management and scheduling where he shows efficacy in finishing his tasks. He is equipped with the knowledge of using software which are related to his major such as, PVsyts and SolidWorks . He is an excellent team player and enjoys warm relationships with his colleagues and staff. He also shows keen interest in identifying unique engineering challenges and develop innovative new approaches based on analytical thinking and programming skills to solve these challenges. He is working on his senior design project under my direct supervision where he shows great research skills, innovative ideas, successful problem-solving techniques and authenticity in conducting his research. During his study period in college, I found him very punctual, hardworking and highly productive. He possesses serious attitudes towards his goals and is highly motivated in achieving his objectives. He shows full potential and tries to put maximum effort in any project. He is extremely dedicated to his work and brings a positive energy to the team. He is insightful, and quickly grasps new technical ideas and engineering concepts. I must say that his basic engineering concepts are excellent, and he will be a good fit for the scientific research and graduate studies at your institution. I strongly recommend him to join your program and wish him great success and all the very best for all his future endeavors.

      • Jul 2019 - Aug 2019

scientific research-based training focusing on power transfer between solar systems and grid networks. Design of multilevel cascaded inverter, Simulating the design using software, and testing the design by hardware. The main objective of this research is to build a Multilevel Cascaded Inverter. It is consisting of a number of cells connected in series, each cell has one DC supply and four switches. In order to control the switching action of the switches, a modulation unit is needed. Out of the different possible modulation strategies, Selective Harmonic Elimination Pulse Width Modulation (SHE, PWM) strategy is selected. SHE, PWM controls the harmonics of the output waveform to lower losses due to conversion.
