  This course is intended to provide an overview of the fundamental concepts of the technology for preparation of oral pharmaceutical solid dosage forms. Participants will work in teams to conduct selected relevant testing for evaluation and quality control of materials and dosage forms prepared.Lectures include topics in preformulation, excipients, granulation, mixing, blending, tablet processing, extrusion/spheronization, melt extrusion, coating, scale-up stability and quality control, QbD, product evaluation, FDA regulatory requirements, and FDA/SUPAC guidelines concerning BA/BE and IVIVC.Laboratory consists of 20 hours of hands-on training including preformulation, granulation, extrusion/spheronization, tableting, tablet pan coating, fluid bed granulation, Wurster particle coating, melt extrusion, and product quality evaluations Show less
