YOUTH (BOLD) LEADERSHIP PROGRAM The program I coordinated on behalf of the US Embassy, Abuja-Nigeria at the period, is a Sub-Saharan Youth Leadership Program (Bold Leaders) funded by the United States Department of State, Washington DC. The objective of the program was to give secondary school students and teachers from Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, and South Africa an exposure to civic education, leadership development, respect for diversity, and community service (volunteerism) in the United States. The program contents included leadership training, stay with host families, and school and community engagement in Denver, Colorado, and meeting with institutions and presentations in Washington, DC. While on the program, participants will develop project ideas that they will implement upon their return home. Participants departed Nigeria on October 26, 2012 and returned on November 18, 2012.
