In my capacity as Refugee & Immigrant Transitions' Manager of Development and Communications, I partnered with a wonderful team of Pro Bono UX Design Consultants: Abdelrhman Mostafa and Guillermo Sanchez. Abdel and Guillermo worked with us to advise on RIT's website improvements and create a mockup to redesign our nonprofit's most important pages: Home page, Volunteer, and Donate. From the beginning, I was moved by Abdel and Guillermo's deep commitment and support of RIT's mission to serve refugees and immigrants in the Bay Area. They did an in-depth study (including surveys) of user experience and created a beautiful mockup for our three website pages. They were responsive and communicative at every step of the way, meeting with our Fundraising and Communications team weekly to explain their (fascinating!) process in detail and solicit our feedback. Thank you so much Abdel and Guillermo!! We greatly enjoyed working with you.

Led collaboration with startups & non-profits to draw their user strategy map and enhance the users’ end to end experience for their products: - Layed out workflow around products’ technical constraints. Avoided hitting roadblocks & delivered the end product on schedule. - Performed card sorting analysis with 30+ users to better understand users’ perception of navigating the site map & information architecture. That allowed the team to refine the product according to what the users expected. Applied insights from research to design decisions. - Delivered competitor analysis, researched 5+ business comparators for each product to provide strategic insights into the features, feelings & flows evoked by competitors. - Performed heuristic evaluation on the existing products to determine the main pain points that were holding the business from achieving its goals. Built wireframes based on research findings. - Led brainstorming sessions with designers on the products’ originality and brand.
