I had a chance to work with Abby briefly at Net Impact. In all my interactions with her, she proved herself to be a capable, strategic leader. Within months of joining Net Impact, she jumped in to undefined territory and quickly implemented a pilot program to help the organization start to define its new direction. She also always keeps an eye out for opportunities for the organization to improve across all areas - clearly proving herself an invaluable asset for Net Impact and its future.

    • Author, Money and Love: An Intelligent Roadmap for Life's Biggest Decisions
      • Jan 2023 - Present

For over four decades, pioneering labor economist Myra Strober taught a course at Stanford's Graduate School of Business called Work & Family; the course helped me and thousands of other students make more informed, intentional decisions about our careers and personal lives. Myra and I teamed up to write this book to empower everyone to make better decisions when money and love are involved. Should I move in with this person? Should I quit my job? When is the “right time” to have another child? All these life-altering questions at the juncture of money and love can be overwhelming. Often, we answer them either by staying overly rational or by listening only to our – at times fickle – hearts. Hardly ever, when faced with daunting questions, do we have the keys to combine both head and heart in a balanced and fulfilling way. Whereas most decision-making guides focus only on one or the other, Money and Love shows us how to consider them jointly using the original, step-by-step 5Cs method: Clarify; Communicate; Choices; Check-in; and Consequences. Under my leadership, the company's first jobs and career advancement program for under-represented groups scaled more than 10x (from 100 to >1100 annual hires) and earned Gap Inc. recognition in Harvard Business Review and elsewhere as a brand that lives its values (see article linked below). In addition to serving as President of Gap Foundation, helped Old Navy launch its Imagine Mission Fund. Co-founded first employee network group for working parents at Gap Inc., which has been featured as a best practice for how companies can support dual-career couples. Show less
