It is one of my greatest pleasures to see the progress of our students once they graduate. Abby has continued to demonstrate the motivation to achieve well done! and I wish her the best as her career continues to go from strength to strength.

Steve Smith

I collaborated with Abby whilst spending much time on a personal self-development project on which I chose to specifically call upon her character of selflessness that she's seems to so naturally possess. Abby is a person who can bring out the positives of your own abilities and characteristics with ease and really has a nack for advertising "things" in the best light. Always a pleasure to be in the company of, she can bring a gentle yet focussed vision to a goal that you are trying to acheive, making her an assett that suits best a team environment, rather than leaving all of her PMA to fester on its own. Thanks Abby! You're a star! I look forward to seeing all the great places that you will undoubtedly end up in your career. Good luck (not that you need it ;)) Steve

I worked here over the summer as a street fundraiser. I absolutely loved this job; it involved travelling around the country raising money for Friends of the Earth. Other than allowing me to help a cause I really believe in, it also increased my confidence because it was my job to spark up conversation with strangers all day every day. My organisational skills, as we had to be fully prepared for the day because once we left we could not go back and get anything we had forgotten; and really made me feel I was doing something worthwhile when I was at work.

I worked as a Marketing Executive here for my placement year at university where I was in charge of the Affiliate marketing scheme. My roles included running the social media marketing side of the business, networking to make new contacts and affiliates, paying the affiliates on our scheme and acquiring new affiliates. I was also responsible for sending press samples of products out and tracking where our products had been written about. A side from this I was responsible for entering our products into awards. This job has helped me improve my people and communication skills, my organisational skills and also improve my confidence. It has also helped develop my Excel skills further.

Duties here included working in the risk management section, in the banking services department and in the finance section. Here I learnt how to transfer money from one account to another, how to make payments, how to sanctions check customers and risk management administration. I also learnt how to process letters of credit and inward remittances (funds received). All of which were undertaken in team environments where I learned the value of controls and procedures and methodical working to tight deadlines. These skills are all very useful when working in the banking sector and provide a valuable background knowledge that could be easily transferred to other organisations.
