  Conducted research in Dr. Kurt Gibbs’ lab focusing on spinal cord injury and regeneration in Xenopus laevis frogs. Used various techniques to isolate the molecular factors that allow spinal cord regeneration in the pre-metamorphic tadpole but not in the metamorphosed frog. Necessary lab procedures included histological frozen sectioning, in situ hybridization, immunofluorescence staining and imaging, and Western blot protein quantification.

  Assisted in teaching a section of the lab in an introductory level biology class. Major responsibilities included lab setup and cleanup, answering questions related to material during class, proctoring lab practical examinations, and grading weekly assignments/quizzes/tests.

  Ensured the preparedness, cleanliness, and safety of the teaching labs for the MSU chemistry classes. Major responsibilities included lab setup and cleanup, preparation of necessary chemical solutions at desired concentrations, and weekly inspection of lab safety equipment.
