Working at OMD, my key role was within the biddable social team, with Barclays as my main client. Sitting in the performance team at OMD, we were responsible for all digital channels but my main focus was social channels across varying business units for the client. Client communications and strategic planning are essential within my day-to-day tasks, ensuring all campaigns are well managed and in-line to meet and exceed our KPI’s. With this in mind, risk planning is vital such as being aware of competitor activity in the marketplace early on and adjusting our strategy accordingly. Presenting to clients and stakeholders on a weekly basis and pulling reports, detailing performance and understanding the core performance metrics and key learns from our various campaigns also played a vital part of the role within the team. I was an instrumental team member to the implementation of reporting suites which resulted in an autonomous approach to minor yet time consuming tasks, giving myself and the team more time to spend on strategy, optimisation and researching betas/new mediums to target our consumers with. To demonstrate my drive to push myself, I took on a high level of responsibility for a graduate role which resulted in being awarded the social lead on Barclays Private Bank, allowing me to improve my strategic knowledge - giving me the opportunity to plan social campaigns on a quarterly and ad hoc basis. Overall, I took responsibility for campaigns seeing each through from brief to final performance reports on both an always on and ad hoc basis.
