As a coach, I worked with four to six-year-olds, leading stretches, demonstrating techniques, helping them work through complex moves, and ultimately improving their motor skills, such as: balance, coordination, and flexibility. Perhaps even more important; however, I helped students cope with the small failures one often encounters in athletics. In addition, I acted as a role model to the students by demonstrating and encouraging timeliness, respect, discipline, and kindness.
