      The General Aviation Flight Laboratory – or GAFL – is an engineering research lab located within the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Wichita State University. The GAFL specializes in the R&D of innovative concepts and solutions in areas of aerospace control systems, aviation safety technologies, and flight simulation.As an Undergraduate Research Assistant for the GAFL, I have been working on a project that aims to mitigate the Loss of Control (LoC) scenarios, such as stall, from occurring in flight. LoC is a major contributor to air accidents worldwide. The GAFL employs analytical methods, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), and extensive testing on its state-of-the-art flight simulation equipment, that I assist with.
